Texas teen jailed for Facebook comment is free on $500,000 bail donated by stranger

Texas teen Justin Carter is no longer sitting in a San Antonio jail cell for a comment he made on Facebook in March. Carter, 19, was bailed out July 11 by an anonymous donor.

Defense attorney Don?Flanary?told MSNBC?that his client made bail on a terroristic threat charge thanks to an ?anonymous good Samaritan? who donated $500,000 to the Carter family.?

Carter's arrest stems from an argument on Facebook about the popular online video game League of Legends.?

According to the arrest warrant, an acquaintance told Justin he was "crazy," to which Justin responded, "I'm fucked up in the head alright, I think I'ma shoot up a kindergarten and watch the blood of innocent rain down and eat the beating heart of one of them." He followed up with "LOL" [laugh out loud] and "JK" [just kidding].

A woman in Canada brought Carter's comments to the attention of law enforcement, who charged the teen with making a "terroristic threat," a felony that carries up to eight years in prison. Carter's joke came only months after the Sandy Hook school shootings.
